Copper Booklaces, our newest edition, are made with 18-gauge solid copper plates just like our larger books, and are 2 inches square. The designs are assembled, collage style, using various art sources including hand-drawn detailing, and hand carved images. Each book is then etched in an acid bath to give the design a dimensional, textural quality. Covers are hand patinaed to give the design contrast, then clear-coated for protection from the elements. The interiors and back covers are hand burnished with a swirl design, and the book is hand sewn with two needles using black or cream waxed irish linen thread and aged copper eyelets. Hangs from hand formed copper wire hangers. On black cord with clasp. Page count varies.

These are beautiful, wearable works of art that make great conversation pieces. Note that some pens/pencils will fit in the loops of the hangers as well, but since they are hand formed you'll have to test different sizes.
